Charming and historical B & B in a super convenient location! The BF and I drove down from Denver for Memorial weekend and we could not have enjoyed our stay more! Pueblo Bonito is very easy to find with plenty of free parking. The nice lady who checked us in spent ample time showing us a map of Santa Fe and marking all the interesting land marks and restaurants for us. Then she walked us to our room and made sure everything was to our satisfaction. I really appreciate these personalized touches - such a difference from staying at any of the big chain hotels! Pueblo Bonito is an old adobe compound - our room was modest but very comfortable. We had a small kitchenette, which was excellent because we promptly when to Trader Joe's (very close by) and bought lots of wine and cheese to put in the fridge. The bed was comfy, everything was clean, the wi-fi was fast, and the air conditioning worked great! It's also on a quiet street, so we could sleep with the windows open and not hear any traffic noise - I love that! Another nice features is lots of outdoor tables with umbrellas. We spent a night sitting outside, enjoying the weather, drinking $3 TJ's wine and playing cards - perfection! The location could not have been better. Very easy walk to the Plaza, tons of restaurants, bars, Trader Joe's, Whole Foods, what more could you want?! The breakfast was also nice - not fancy, but good and filling. Fresh fruits, pastries, bagels, hard boiled eggs, different cream cheeses, cereals, yogurts, etc. All in all, I would definitely recommend Pueblo Bonito. The owners and staff members are friendly, and helpful and make you feel at home. I like supporting local businesses and I was proud to spend my money here! And I thought the price was very reasonable compared to all of the other places I looked at, especially considering the wonderful location and the nice breakfast. We'll be back for sure!

The location's not bad - 15 min walk to the Plaza (if you walk slow). The staff is really friendly. However, they've got a worst food ever for any B&B I've stayed in. I complained to the owner when we checked out. She was really nice about it and explained the hidden costs and overhead to us. But - for almost $200/night in NEW MEXICO, I'd expect something better than pre-packaged chips and cookies.

Room photos online don't tell the story. It's run-down and wiring and such is all over the walls. We reserved this place on a credit card and upon arrival they took another card from us for "incidentals" . They mistakenly charged the "incidentals" card for the room and sent my account to hell. The owner would not take responsibility for their error. This B&B is NOT WORTH the top-money... $160. a night ?... the off-season rate is "reasonable".. at $79. but don't expect the rooms to look like they do in pictures.

price is good for being 10 mins. away from downtown but during our visit we found out that there are other B&B's closer to the downtown area for the same price. The bed area looked clean and so did the bathroom when we were showed to our room by the inn keeper. But when shower time came I found that the shower and tub were not as clean as the seemed. The coffee maker and glasses didn't look clean either. This is a historic place but I think the cleaning could be a little better. We stayed in the Tesuque room. Bed was comfy though

We had a great experience during our NYE stay at this quaint little B&B. Our hosts were gracious, kind and helpful, and provided us with everything we needed. Their breakfast spread was fresh, delicious and plentiful and had an excellent variety of options to indulge in. Our adorable room was clean, comfortable and authentic, including all original wood work, stained glass, traditional art and antiques, textiles and patterns. It even had a working fireplace! It was exactly the type of place you imagine staying in when visiting Santa Fe and we couldn't have been happier with this little GEM. Thank you Amy and Herb!

The staff are very nice, welcoming, and friendly. The breakfast was very good--bagels, muffins, cereals, tamales, hard boiled eggs, etc. The facilities are well maintained. Good location for all that Santa Fe has to offer--very walkable. Our room was adequate--a bit dated and quirky.

For those of us who enjoy a real experience when we travel . . . thank you Pueblo Bonito! Yes, the rooms are small, and wiring is on the walls - this is an OLD building. But it is beautifully up to date where it counts - nice hot water, comfy bed, clean and friendly. The rooms are quiet (thick adobe walls help), toasty warm in winter (with or without the fire in the kiva), and furnished the way I would expect in a Santa Fe motif. Service at breakfast is 100% aimed at customer satisfaction - I have watched the hosts hover in the doorway, anticipating guests' needs and jumping to action to fetch a plate, or carafe of coffee . . . no complaints there. The breakfast offering is highlighted by terrific fresh tamales - accompanied by fresh fruit, pastries and an assortment of things to toast. No kitchen so don't expect omelets and pancakes, but you certainly won't go hungry. Walking distance to everything worth seeing, and the hosts are happy to offer advice and directions about things to do further afield. From here head to Taos, or Ghost Ranch . . . it's central and a great place to call "home" while you're in New Mexico.

Charming, authentic, and comfy. Short walk to the plaza. Breakfast in the main "house" is fun while you visit with other guests. Nothing fancy here, but we'll take charm over fancy any day.

We had a nice, relaxing stay and were able to walk almost everywhere we wanted or needed to go. The owners were very friendly and made sure to check-in with all the new faces at breakfast, providing any information or direction needed to assist their visit to Santa Fe. Breakfast itself was a slight disappointment, being not much beyond a glorified "continental", with the same store-bought pastries, bagels, cereal and breads, paired with fruit, yogurt and hard-boiled eggs. I appreciated the variety, but it was the same spread for four days in a row. Changing up the type of pastries, fruit and bagels would have been nice. The only warm food was the crockpot of house-made tamales. Each day, while we were out, our room was cleaned--bed made, towels refreshed, dishes put away in the kitchenette. As the online description advertised, our unit had a small kitchenette, so we planned to eat lunches out in the town and save money by cooking in at night. I cook quite a bit, so luckily I planned ahead and brought a few things from home, because the kitchen was very sparsely supplied with cooking utensils and only had a couple of pots/pans just big enough to cook for the two of us. Though we did appreciate having our dinner out on the patio table in front of our room. The unit was clean, but pretty cramped with awkward decorations that where poorly placed throughout. For being the "#3 city for art sales in the world" (as quoted by the owner) the units could use a little sprucing up/rearranging in terms of decor. Also, wifi that works consistently in all rooms should really be standard by now. Overall, it was quaint and pleasant place to stay, in a fantastic location, but was maybe a little overpriced for the full quality.

Nice place, well kept - but please don't charge Lodger's tax on the items you are selling. Santa Fe's sales tax is high enough as it is!

I stayed in the single room, 8-11 August. The AC unit never worked well, despite its rattle -- unfortunately loud, since the bed is rammed up against the unit. But I could not open the window and so rose with a headache from the stuffy, turgid air. Explaining the situation at breakfast, I asked the owner if he could open the window; all he said was, "No." This is unnecessary and inexcusable -- the cool, desert night air was unavailable in a small room that should have a ceiling fan at most. The subsequent two nights i left my door open so that I could get fresh air. I was struck that throughout my stay the owners never asked me if all was well, or if I had any concerns -- I suspect they anticipated the complaint I would make. This is an old building, so architectural eccentricities don't bother me. The plumbing was excellent. However, the two slabs of lumpy polyester presented as pillows were not in line with the good mattress. Cleaning was fine, except for the stained bedspread. The breakfast was mediocre except for the fresh melon. I went out each morning after the melon. The public living room is open only 8-8, which left me nowhere to sit comfortably early in the morning or in the evening -- except for the stuffy room. I was in Santa Fe for a family funeral and had to make my plans at the last minute. My three other favorite places were booked (I am in SF a few times/year). I chose this place on the basis of location, which is outstanding -- by the farmers' market and easy walking to the Plaza -- but I will definitely stay elsewhere my next visit, and I will tell my friends to do so, too.

Wonderful little bed and breakfast with a gracious and personable staff. Knowledgable of the area. Very accommodating for a yoga retreat. Great location within walking distance of everything. Quaint and comfortable rooms and suites. You will not want to leave.

If your looking for a B&B in a great location with lots of personality and wonderful inn keepers, this is the place for you. Four of us shared a suite for a long weekend. Awesome location, great deal, with breakfast and tea/coffee in the afternoon. Super helpful inn keepers who gave great tips of things to do and eats and made us feel like we were old friends visiting. Thank you for a great time!

You can still see the receding charm of this place, but the rooms are small, cramped, some adjacent to a noisy road with old and loud window air conditioners and run-down bath fixtures. Staff is friendly and the 4pm tea time features a decent margarita. But breakfast is Costco quality. If the cost was well below a Benjamin, it would be reasonable, alas it isn't. There is no WiFi, even in the lobby. And AT&T has no reception on the grounds. --- Update: 2011 Dec - post owner contact: There is WiFi now in the lobby! You can probably pick it up in some rooms, lots of them faces the entrance. I also appreciate the care and the followup, so I changed my rating from 2 to 3 stars. I'd have to revisit and test it out myself to go further up.

Charming, historic and comfortable. The rooms are dressed in rustic decor, hard wood floors, comfortable beds, linens in vibrant shades of the desert and strings of red chilis hanging off the porches. The service was exquisite and friendly. We enjoyed some herbal tea on the leather sofas chatting with the inn keeper next to the big Kiva fireplace in the main community room. We stayed in the Taos room and it was picturesque! Although, the bathroom was tiny the shower had hot water and that was plenty! And on a cold rainy night, I loved falling asleep to the sounds of the fire burning lowly in the kiva across from the bed. The breakfast next day wasn't fancy but just perfect enough to get the day started. I really liked the private parking, gravel lot that was right outside your room. And the location is close to downtown, I wouldn't suggest walking but you're a short car ride. I have to say that for the price it is absolutely perfect.

If you are looking for something within a short walk of the square but don't want to spend $300+ - check out Pueblo Bonito. The continental breakfast is satisfying and the staff are very friendly. The rooms were very cramped, having to close the door to get in the bed. Only 1 can fit in the queen unless he is to climb over you to get out. All that being said - there was a kitchen and it was clean.

Quaint, historic, former governors mansion and horse stalls make up the basic complex for Pueblo Bonito BB. This is a total non traditional BB, no 3 story victorian house here-single units of all sizes and types, private entrances in very crowed gravel parking lot. Our room was certainly a former horse stall, lots of cool doors, windows, yet had a small bedroom, living room, kitchen area where you could actually cook, and a strange bathroom, tight quarters, older tile and furnishings along with a very slow powered showerhead. Breakfast was basic continental-fruits, breads, waffles, bagels, cereal, not the gourmet breakfasts we have enjoyed in other BB's. However, for $130 night, its a decent deal-about 8 minute walk from the plaza, close to the Guadalupe Cafe (recommended by staff) which had amazing greek salads served outside on a lovely patio. We missed the tea and margs at 4PM, but overall were very satisfied. We also drank wine on our patio (shared) looking at the many russian olive trees in our complex. Friendly staff, probably worth $80-100 but a good visit and we would stay there again and try another room.

We got hooked up with a nice studio apartment at Pueblo Bonito. The space is large but don't expect pristine. We wanted to stay somewhere that had easy walking access to the city and I am glad we picked Pueblo Bonito. Right across the street is this awesome cigar bar that we hung out in last night. The breakfast this morning was basic but satisfying. I had an english muffin with peanut butter, yogurt, fresh fruit, and some crappy coffee. We plan on seeking our coffee elsewhere. So far a very pleasurable experience at Pueblo Bonito B&B.

Excellent location and friendly, informative staff. I stayed two days and didn't once need to use my car to explore the culture and cuisine of the city. The owners, fun to talk with, are eager to create an individualized itinerary to suit your needs. The bed and breakfast style made it easy to meet interesting, friendly guests, and the atmosphere of the rooms are authentically Southwest with adobe and native decorations. For an affordable price you can't do any better!
